Resolutelyvs Strides
Updated · By Brian, who makes Resolutely
Strides and Resolutely are close: both track habits, number targets and projects with milestones on iPhone. Strides has been at it since 2012. It has more ways to chart a number, an Average tracker for things like a rolling weight average, apps for iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and now Android, and, since October 2026, tasks. Resolutely is built around the year rather than a dashboard: it measures habits by consistency, asks you to reflect on each goal as you go, and is free with every feature. Strides is free for three goals and habits.
Pick Strides if…
- You want detailed charts and reports on your numbers, including rolling averages like weight or steps.
- You use an iPad, Mac, Apple Watch or Android phone, not just an iPhone.
- You want habits, goals, projects and a task list in one app, or an accountability partner who can see your progress.
- Three goals and habits are enough, or you're happy to pay for Strides Plus.
Pick Resolutely if…
- You want more than three goals and habits without paying.
- You'd rather a habit be measured by consistency over a window you choose than by a streak.
- You want to reflect on how each goal is going, with questions that change with its status.
- You want the year as a whole: goals that stay with their year, and a plant that grows as you make progress.
